Creating a Romantic Bedroom |
1 |
Valentine’s Day can be the holiday that inspires us to create a romantic feel in our bedroom. Using these tips you can create that romantic feeling in your bedroom in no time.
Paint can turn your bedroom from blah in to vavavavoom! You really want to use warm colors in your bedroom. Romance is about keeping things hot in the bedroom, so use a warm ochre on your walls. This warm golden yellow lends itself to being combined perfectly with a deep red on your bed.
Bedding is another place where you can turn up the romance. Soft, silky and plush fabrics really evoke the romantic feel. When searching for the comforter or duvet cover, make sure that item doesn’t look like something that would come out of Granny’s room. Something with a nice pin-tuck or damask pattern will work nicely.
Lighting always sets the mood, whether in the bedroom or not. Make sure you have plenty of ambient lighting. Use dimmers on your switches to easily adjust the lighting. Plenty of candles will give the flickering lighted ambience that you will love. If you really want to go all out, replace that dowdy ceiling light with a sparkly chandelier.
Add Flowers. Flowers instantly say romance! Adding bouquets of flowers or even a single bloom in a vase will help to create that soft and sweet feel. Add doilies underneath for that little extra detail.
Clutter kills the moment. De-clutter your space. If you don’t have room to put all your items away or displayed in an organized fashion, go through it and pare your stuff down. If you haven’t looked at or used it in the last year, toss it!

I am 100% in agreement with the rule to toss anything you haven’t used in a year. Maybe it’s the Realtor in me, but the clutter has to go!
